GD-Itronix GoBook III—Product End of Life Annoucement

IMPORTANT PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT!

The GoBook® III has been in the General Dynamics Itronix product line since September 2004. Over its life the GoBook III has been deployed into incredibly diverse environments; it has served well and with a high degree of reliability.

It has become increasingly difficult to procure all of the components necessary to continue to build the GoBook III. As a result, GD-Itronix has initiated the End of Life Process on the model IX260+ GoBook III computer.

Orders for the GoBook III are no longer being accepted. The last ship date for the GoBook III is May 31, 2007.

GD-Itronix has announced the following timeline for End of Service:

In June, 2007 GD-Itronix introduced the GoBook XR-1, the next generation fully rugged notebook, as the successor to the GoBook III. We encourage you to investigate the XR-1, the new standard in STATE-OF-THE-ART fully rugged wireless notebooks available today.

Service and support will remain the same.
Existing service and support agreements from GD-Itronix will remain in effect, and the agreements may be renewed for service contracts that terminate as late as November 30, 2011.
After November 30, 2011, “best effort” support will be available.
